Sapropels are centuries-old silty bottom sediments of freshwater ponds, formed as a result of physicomechanical, biochemical microbiological processes from plant and animal organisms inhabiting the lake, as well as from inorganic components of biogenic origin and bearing mineral impurities. High water retention and low filtration capacity of sapropel contribute to the improvement of water-physical properties of light soils. Having an adhesive ability, a sapropel, when interacting with the soil, improves its structure, gives it lumpiness, looseness, increases breathability. The introduction of a sapropel into the soil is not only a means of direct providing cultivated plants with nutrients, but also a very important factor in radically improving fertility by enriching the soil with organic matter, reducing acidity and improving the water-physical properties of the arable layer, which ultimately leads to an increase in agricultural yields cultures.

The production technology conducted by Ekovit LLC is the safest among the existing methods of hydromechanization. The extraction of bottom sediments (sapropel) occurs not from the surface layer on which all the life activity of the underwater world of the lake is formed, but from the deeper layers of sapropel, as if from the inside.
The coastal structure is built in such a way that the extracted sapropel in a solid mass without external water and losses through the pipeline enters the storage facility, which is isolated from possible external influence. Thus, getting into the sapropel of any inclusions that could affect its quality characteristics is excluded.
High peat arriving for mechanical mixing, in order to avoid harmful influence on the quality of the peat-sapropel mixture, is subjected to deep thermal and mechanical processing. All of the above guarantees high quality environmentally friendly organic fertilizer in combination with the rehabilitation of the lake.
